He did not play enough regular season games to qualify. The qualifications were changed back when John Pocklington put his mothers name on the Stanley Cup. Ugh!!! Simon Gagne is a terrific player when healthy. Hopefully he will be an offensive spark in the finals as Marty and Quickie fight it out.
