Well said tackledummy ! You’re to be commended for speaking the truth, which is especially admirable on your part, given that the Devils are your team ! That fact of the matter is that the New Jersey Devils are an organization which has embraced and sold “boredom” as a legitimate form of entertainment for years. It’s unacceptable and it’s a complete disservice to the “hockey-loving” folk there in New Jersey. At the very least, the NHL should force the Devil’s to print “bad for your health” warning labels on their tickets, just as the government does here in Canada with cigarettes ! Nonetheless, I’m viewing this series from two different perspectives. One is as a Kings’ fan and the chance for LA to triumph and make all these “so-called” experts look utterly stupid ! … and the other is as a fan of exciting “quality” hockey, where cowardly, shutdown, boredom has no place !

KINGS = EXCITEMENT ! … GO KINGS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it’s technically cheating, but you’re not much of a competitor if you don’t push the envelope and see what you can get away with. I’m not saying guys should go out and try to murder each other. I’m saying you might as well try to put the puck in the net any way you can because sometimes guys get awarded less-than-legal goals.

The Devils whole game is the trap. The trap implements standing picks and rubbing the man off of his path. Now last time I check, interference is a call given to a defender who doesn’t allow a player who doesn’t have the puck a right of path. That means you can’t get in his way or touch him until he’s in the vicinity of the puck. So there are my sources. There are no highlights during a Devils game. You ever watch Sportscenter after a Devils game? Exactly there are like 3 to 4 clips and then the rest is talking about other things to fill the time in. I’ve been dealing with Devil hockey my entire life and it sucks. That’s why the Flyers/Penguins series has the same rating or higher than the Stanley Cup games between Kings/Devils lol.

Right, because the Kings don’t do the exact same thing (late hits, obstruction, etc). Anybody would attempt to get the puck in any way possible. Like he said – maybe a defender goes to clear it and puts it in accidentally. A moving puck is better than one under a goalie’s pad. Give me a break with the cheating BS.

The Devils entire game is about bending and breaking the rules and getting away with it. Of course Parise would try to cheat and hope to get away with it. When your whole game plan is set around getting away with interference and holding, this is only a logical choice by a New Jersey Devil.
