Id be glad to have him get out of the nhl. I understand people were frustrated about how mike smith plays, but honestly he is like an angry little girl going through puberty.
Sadly though i think the b’s shouldnt give up on hin unless theyre targetting prize players in free agency like rick nash. It’s not like he’s crappy goalie because he’s still one of the best in the league.

Tim Thomas will play next year. You just don’t take a year off from the NHL when your 38 years old. In fact, you don’t generally do it at any age.

Its far more likely Thomas will be traded, play for whoever gets him, and collect his $5 million next season… which he will no doubt stash in a Swiss bank account.

Think it’s pretty obvious he played his last game in Boston he walks away scott free next year so him moving his family is just nudging the front to say hey I’m ready to go. I can see the Blackhawks snooping around for his services. I can see him waiving his no trade clause and getting dealt at the draft.
