True, but NFL players are arrested on an almost daily basis, with NBA guys almost weekly. That being said, I’m torn on the Kane thing. One the one hand, if I was his age with all his fame and money, I’d be having a lot of fun too. I do believe he gets far too much attention, as I could care less if he’s hitting the bars. However, if he’s hitting women, I’ve got an issue with that. As a celebrity though, he’s an easy target from people making potentially false claims for money against him. Plus, he’s a little guy. He needs to watch himself, or he’s going to get continually beaten, like he has in Chicago bars a couple of times. Hopefully he’ll grow up before he makes a serious mistake.

nick: I don’t begrudge Kane having fun, though I really hope he did not really abuse a woman, and I’m sure his employers hope he learns how to be more discreet as he grows up. But you asked “When was the last time an NHL player was arrested … for drug possession?” Coincidentally, on Wednesday, former Buffalo Sabre and Rochester American Sean McMorrow was given two years in a federal prison for running a pot smuggling ring from Canada to the US. Now I personally think pot should be legal, regulated and taxed, and that Sean should be freed, but you asked so there’s the answer.

The guy likes to go out and party, so what? Leave the kid alone. NHL players are very well behaved in comparison to other pro athletes. If this is the worst thing hockey players are doing that’s a good thing. When was the last time an NHL player was arrested on a weapons charge or for drug posession? When was the last time an NHL player was accused of rape? I cant think of any incidents like that. Stop breaking the guy’s balls for drinking.

Of course that’s what his party buddy is gonna say. Wasn’t Sharp “busted” with Kane and another teammate in the limo partying with some chicks in Vancouver?
