Rangers’ McDonagh: “It doesn’t feel right to be done right now”

Despite the lack of moral outrage, the New York Rangers had remarkably similar looks on their faces compared to the Phoenix Coyotes upon being elimination from their respective conference finals in OT. That’s the beauty and agony of sudden death: you barely have time to get your wits about you by the time the handshake line commences.

New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh logged a ton of minutes in this year’s playoffs, yet it still felt too short, as he told Dave Lozo.

“It doesn’t feel right to be done right now,” McDonagh said. “It’s a tough pill to swallow.”

Henrik Lundqvist‘s explanation was simple, as he said he felt “empty … frustrated … disappointed.”

The trip back home from Newark won’t be a long one for the Rangers, but they’ll still have to absorb this loss for a few more months. It might take a little extra time for players like McDonagh to shake this one off.

should have never gotten to overtime. This team needs to find a killer instinct in the offseason. Dominated play for two periods, maybe if Richards could lift the puck over Brodeurs pads, or if Lundqvist could hang onto the Puck. Rangers clearly the better team…gave games away to an Inferior Jersey team. FRUSTRATING! !!

Actually, New Jersey was the better team. That’s why they won in 6 games.

clearly the better team?? that is why its a seven game series, so the better team will win. I am no devils fan, are there any out there, but give them credit when its due and stop being a biased homer.

I may be a biased homer for the Rangers, but I’m still wondering why the only embellishment or diving penalty this series was given to Prust when CLEARLY the Devils deserve academy awards! Crimey, have you ever seen guys go down so easily and with drama. What a load of crap!
