Where is Dr.Recchi when you need him? I’m not a doctor but watching Kesler play against the Kings I could see that his shoulder was really bothering him. His balance was off and he kept falling down.

Vigneault questioning the effects of injuries on his own players, while he chews gum and laughs behind the bench, just rubs me the wrong way. I can’t think of other coaches around the league who do this kind of thing.

It’s one thing to say it about your young, unproven, top prospect (who is now gone, partly in thanks to Vigneault’s medical opinion), but it’s another level of ballsiness (it’s a word now) when you say it about your workhorse, highly paid, fan favourite superstar.

He doesn’t make it hard for agents to hate him, and Gillis is left to clean up the mess, of Alain Vigneault, M.D.

One theory as to the origin of the turnip truck cliche:

In 1836 there was a great famine in Europe and the only produce available were turnips. People would gather around the wagons as they approached and were often hit by them causing brain damage.

Actually, AV didn’t fall off of a turnip truck. Someone got a stick near him, and he jumped off, looking for a ref as he fell to the pavement.

Considering that Kessler took heat for coming back too early, and for being somewhat selfish putting his wishes above the teams priorities, my first thought when I read Vigneault’s comments was that he was attempting to deflect negative criticism away from Kessler … not heaping on.

I don’t think this is going to be much of a story moving forward .. .of course I’m rarely right so this is probably the beginning of the end and Kesler will be wearing Columbus colours by the end of the month.
