Unless the Devils hold the Cup up in a few weeks, I'd expect Brodeur to come back next year- up to the Devils whether they want him, but the way he's played I would be surprised if he said 'no more'. He still has gas in the tank.

Again, whether New Jersey brings him back or not is unknown, and he might retire rather than have to play for another team, but the outcry from Devils fans for not bringing back Brodeur in favor of bringing in Luongo would be pretty deafening, one would think.

Perhaps some of the fans have been unfair to him...however he has earned a lot of the grief as well. When your paid as much as he is your expected to win, especially in big games. Last year he showed when it matters most, he folds his tent and goes home. Then he followed that up with a simply horrible performance this spring.

The Canucks (who I don't like I should add) have had some good teams over the last few years, and the argument could be made they should have won at least one cup in that time. Yet they haven't, and I don't think its unfair to point to Luongo as one of the main reasons. Hes looked great for most of that time, but again.... not when it has mattered most.

Perhaps Luongo will have better success somewhere else, but its hard to imagine him finding himself with a better team in front of him then hes had (all the top teams have top tier goalies already). If he couldn't deliver a Cup with the Canucks, I don't see it happening anywhere else.

call me crazy but it makes sense for him to end up in Columbus. Columbus is on the rise and if they can get a good package for Nash, they could be playoff bound in 1-3 years. All depends on how well their #2 pick does (cough - Murray or Grigorenko) and what they get in return for Nash....

As for the trade, Vancouver should give him away. No one wants that contract and the price shouldn't be high when the team and Lou wants out.
