kitchsky, no, most of the star players from team USA were either still in the playoffs or getting offseason surgery. Only a select few were like Kane and just didn’t play for whatever reason. It was by no means intentional on team USA’s part.

he also had 20 or more goals in a season about 10+ times and 30 or more about 5+. Don’t quote me but i think it’s around there. Seems pretty good to me.

I agree that Kane had every right to not attend the World Championships, there’s times in a career when a player whos done it all deserves to take somer personal time.

That being said, are you guys suggesting that Team USA deliberately sent an inferior team because of the benefits to playing in an lower pool in the Olympics? Forgive me if I read your comments wrong, but if I didn’t … that’s some pretty gutless strategy that I seriously doubt Hockey USA would implement.

(again, if ya guys arent’ saying that then n/mind me..jus seemed to come off like that to me)

Regardless of what you think of Kane’s partying, the guy played in every single regular season and playoff game for his team. He’s earned the right to do what he wants in the offseason and that includes choosing to not play more hockey. Olczyk needs to zip it.

this has already been mentioned twice that they are going to be in a tough group with russia, slovakia etc. Big deal, they were with Canada in the prior olympics. Russia basically had their entire olympic roster playing. America had about 97% of its olympic roster not playing. USA is going to be one solid team next time around with the likes of kane, kessel, callahan, parise quick , suter etc etc etc etc.
