For me, the draft becomes interesting 3-5 years later when it becomes clearer who panned out and who did not, and why your team’s GM is a genius, or not. And then again about 15 years later when commentators get to say things like: Wow, Pipik is just one goal shy of 500, and can you believe he was drafted 479th?
