How about a blind MORON…The A Hold fans would have had something to say no matter what Marty did…they can’t stand his greatness in the league. If you say Marty is the greatest goal tender of all time, they say no Roy was…who cares if he is or isn’t the greatest of all time…he has a legacy that no one in our lifetime will match…what more do they need to know…on second thought, definitely a MORON in blue.

This year? Listen, Brodeur is the alltime greatest goalie, but far from the all-time greatest man. He’s never been full of what I would consider class. Respect his ability to stop the puck, don’t respect him.

As much as I hate the Devils, a punch is a punch. I do believe Marty over exaggerated a little bit, but does ti matter. Rupp would have still gotten a penalty. And if you get punched out of nowhere while your watching whats going on, of course your going to be surprised! At least he wasn’t DiPietro or Mike Smith.

The point is that the idiot Rupp just completely energized and motivated a Hall-of-Fame goalie – and the rest of his team – at the WORST possible time of the playoffs.
Rupp is almost as stupid as his bush-league coach.
If you’re a Rangers fan and you lose this series…remember the Rupp cheap-shot and the amateur response from your coach.
And yes…that was a sucker-punch.

Also, if you give that video a watch, Rupp is only in Brodeur’s eyeline for a moment before the shove. They’re on goddamn ice and Brodeur isn’t expecting the shove, so I’m pretty sure that stumble is -exactly- the reaction a normal person would have in that case.

Regardless of how hard the shove/punch was, or if Brodeur was ‘selling’ it, it doesn’t matter. Rupp didn’t need to do that to Brodeur. He was already on his way to the box, got pissed and did something stupid that he didn’t need to do. So he got punished for it.

It’s not about Rangers being ‘classless assholes’ or the Devils being ‘pussies’. It’s about one player doing something he should’ve had the good sense not to do.
