I’m a Ranger fan and my first reaction was that it might be intentional, but the front side shot makes it look like he was leaning to get his balance when Volblahblah changed direction. Penalty should have been called, but I can’t remember Prust ever doing anything like that intentionally before (and Volblahblah wasn’t injured), so I think a fine will be in order.

A suspensions though? A much tougher call. Its clear Prust was just trying to line Volchenkov up when he suddenly changed directions on him. It doesn’t look intentional at all, and with no injury/suspension history…. I would not be shocked to see just a fine.

Given how Shanahan works though, who the hell knows.

I’m a rangers fan and that should definitely have been called in the ice. That’s an awful missed call. As for a suspension, I wouldn’t be upset with it if it happens. I think it’s worthy of a game. But then again I’ve seen worse go for nothing so who knows what will happen.

Should have been a penalty, shouldn’t be suspended. Given shanahan’s consistency, I foresee a 32 game suspension

if he is suspended and with rangers injuries at forward. Who plays? bickel as a 4th line winger? Maybe give JT Miller a shot. I know they called him up. catch lightning in a bottle twice with kreider and possibly miller.
That would be a huge blow to the NYR PK. With him and dubinsky out, thats rough.

Even if it isn’t deemed “accidental,” I don’t believe Prust has any suspension history. While we can’t count on consistency, the lack of history and no injury should result in a fine…

…which means a two game suspension is likely on its way.
