Cross-checking is illegal. If you are going to cross-check a guy make sure that the refs aren’t watching. Otherwise its a penalty. Someone should tell Ekman-Larsson.

And cross-checking a guy right after he bumps you, with a referee standing about 5,6 feet away, is just plain stupid. Tippet should explain that to Ekman-Larsson as well.

This attempt to undermine the “brilliant” captaincy of the LA Kings which is Dustin Brown, is truly pathetic ! … and those of you who do so are almost assuredly “not” hockey players yourselves, therefore your views essentially equate to “spam” ! However, given the way our Kings are playing right now and turning things “literally” upside down, this “envious” jealousy from you people is hardly unexpected. The fact of the matter is that Dustin Brown is the absolute “best” captain in the NHL today, bar none ! He’s extremely talented and he plays with a “zeal” which you fools and your defeated teams can only dream about … not to mention the fact that he loves his team and his team loves him !

I am not sure that Fraser’s conclusion that he is “hurting his reputation” is valid. If anything, Brown’s play since February has catapulted his reputation.

I really hate that logic. If the refs called the games the way they were supposed to, then they wouldn’t be deciding the games. As it is now, they let players break the rules a few times here, randomly there, will call this sometimes but not always, and then make sure the penalties are pretty much even at the end of the game. That’s the refs deciding the game. A player that commits a penalty and gets called for it…it’s his fault, he helped decide the outcome of the game, which is as it should be. The notion that there should be no penalties called in the 3rd period or overtime or that ‘ref’s shouldn’t decide the game by calling penalties’ is a big reason why no one wanted to watch hockey in the mid-90s, revenues fell, and we had a lockout early in the 2000s.

the slash to the back of the leg wasn’t a dive, its the ekman larsson cross check in game 3 where the embellishment comes into question.

Somewhere Ryan Kesler is tripping and falling. I know a Fraser, McCreary, Marouelli, Shick or even Koharski wouldn’t tolerate this garbage. The refs have to suck it up because bettman wants more power plays than letting the player’s decide the game.

At this point, if Brown doesn’t already have a reputation for diving, you kind of have to wonder where the referees have been all this time. Reffing east coast games, I guess. I like Brown, but he’s been the biggest diver on the west coast for a while. That includes Vancouver.

Frasher was one if the best refs in league before Bettman chase him because he let the players decide the game and not handing out free power plays. BTW, was it Crosby who was giving Brown the free diving lessions?

He’s not an obvious embellisher. He doesn’t flail his arms or toss his stick in the air to make it super obvious. He just falls down easily at the appropriate time. There’s a reason he almost always leads the league in penalties drawn.
