Poll: Do the Rangers look tired to you?

John Tortorella has been adamant fatigue won’t be an issue for his team. This despite the fact the Rangers’ first two series went seven games, with four of the 14 contests requiring overtime, including one that went to triple OT.

In fact, you could replace the word adamant with indignant.

After the Rangers’ 3-0 victory over the Devils in Game 1, Tortorella told inquiring reporters, “I don’t know where you guys get all this stuff being tired. If we’re tired this time of the year, there’s something the matter. We still have a month to play. You might as well not even ask me questions about being tired. We’re not a tired hockey club. We are ready to play.”

But it didn’t look that way last night. New York spent much of Game 2 in its own end fending off a relentless New Jersey forecheck, eventually losing the contest, 3-2.

Filip Bondy of the New York Daily News called the Rangers “visibly fatigued” and suggested Tortorella “might have underestimated the postseason toll.”

But did you see it that way? Or, was this just one of those games where the more desperate team won?

Filip Bondy and other NY sports scribes who haven’t bothered to watch the Rangers or any other NHL games all season now all the sudden are experts and have such strong opinions about what they *know* must be the problem. This is still the same Ranger team that’s played all year… It’s been a successful but arduous struggle all year, and that won’t change after finishing in first place in the EC and winning two tight playoff series.

But the NY area media is finding a new enemy in Torts, so now all guns go blazing right at him. Which I suppose is Torts’ goal.

They lose one game and now there “tired” No it’s the NHL it’s a grind to win the cup look at the bruins last year they had 3 game 7 and they won the cup.

Honestly being a reporter is a joke. Tired? Yea maybe a little tired.. But who isn’t. Their professional athletes. I’m pretty sure their conditioning is up to par to run through the playoffs. They’re playing the devils, it’s already set in stone that the series is going to 6/7. Did you even watch the game? The rangers had control for a good half of the game. There was like 13 mins where the devils didn’t have a shot. Two bad clearing attempts and the devils have two goals… Do some research before you post. Damn… Maybe these NBC reporters are a little tired..

This is retarded. They shut out the devils the game before. The media is blowing this tired crap out of proportion. And torts is coming off as an ass but he’s keeping the attention on that and not on his team so the media doesn’t get in any players heads by popping off at the mouth like the idiots they are.

We’ll put you down as a “No.”
