Yeah that one was a head scratcher too, first in that the Islanders DID win the Cup that year, thus needing an asterisk, then also because they didn’t start 11-1. Clearly he meant Oilers in this case, and not the Isles.

I can’t remember when I saw a team consistently pass so crisply. This team so far doesn’t appear to read it’s press clippings. They are focused on the end of the voyage, one game at a time. They continue on to finally hold aloft the Cup. This LA Kings team is a beast.

The 1982-83 Islanders went 7-3 in the first two rounds.
The 1983-84 Islanders also went 7-3 in the first two rounds.
The Islanders have nothing to do with 11-1 starts.
