Quick on Coyotes: “You don’t win two rounds by rattling easily”

The Los Angeles Kings tore up the top two seeds in the West through two rounds and they’re halfway through doing the same to the No. 3 seed Phoenix Coyotes. They’re not taking the bait in burying the Coyotes – who clearly lost their cool in Game 2 – though.

Jonathan Quick wisely took the complimentary route when John Hoven asked if the Coyotes are losing their composure.

“You don’t win two rounds this time of the year by rattling easily,” Quick said.

Speaking of easy, Quick earned his second shutout of the playoffs pretty quietly, making all 24 saves tonight. Quick said that the Coyotes created great chances in the first period in Game 2, but he probably knows that he’ll see more pressure going forward. It’s wise that he’s not giving them bulletin board material, then.

depends if he wants Tim Thomas on the ticket or not.

Quick is starting to join an elite class of goalies that only play better the deeper they go into crunch time. Team USA has a new number 1 goalie in Quick, and the Kings have a franchise player.

Blues fan here. Kings are going to win the Stanley Cup. They remind me of the Cardinals and the playoff run they had last year. They got hot at the right time.

Don’t neglect to mention there was quite a bit of fortune for them.

The Kings are playing very scary. They’ve forced their opponents to play their game every night.

Quick has to win the vezina. It would be an injustice if he didn’t. The kings will likely ride on his back all the way to the Stanley cup.
