A fan base is earned slowly in Arizona. The team was ran poorly and ownership padded numbers for building on their other business. There is not 1 big named star on the Coyotes. Arizona has been good to so many out of state transplants, but they stay here and support other teams. Jameson will make it happen. For those that live here but hate on AZ, THERE’S the effing door.

How about you stop being pissy with the 99.999% of the hockey world that sees this situation for the embarrassment it is, and save your anger and frustration for your neighbors, co-workers and friends who for 15 years have refused to support the team you love. It’s not our fault your team is a financial disaster, and I don’t think it’s your fault (meaning YOU, specifically), but it IS the fault of the people of Phoenix. Your city supports the Cards, D Backs and Suns. But please face the facts — they don’t care one iota about hockey.

I like “smart alecky” comments. and non-traditional hockey markets are ridiculous and should be ridiculed until they become traditional hockey markets.

No, you're totally right. Phoenix has consistently proved that they both deserve and can support a hockey team. Regular season attendance rank, according to ESPN.com: 2011-12: 30th 2010-11: 29th 2009-10: 30th 2008-09: 28th 2007-08: 29th 2006-07: 24th 2005-06: 22nd 2003-04: 19th 2002-03: 29th 2001-02: 29th 2000-01: 27th Good job on climbing out of the bottom third of the league in attendance eight years ago.

If improvement is $25 for Conference title tickets then you’ve answered your own question. People bag on the situation because it makes no sense that this team has stayed in a market that has lost money for 15 years straight. Don’t bag on the media for doing their job

If you’re one of the people from outside the city hoping for the Coyotes demise then this must make you happy. For the rest of us who cares?

Any deal worked out with a new owner will be long past caring about individual game ticket prices. StubHub tickets are secondary market anyways, so those ticket’s have already been sold by the team. The reduced price could very well represent the reduced price STH pay for tickets, which means it represents a season ticket sold for next season.

Finally why is there a double standard for markets in danger? Coyotes attendance, and ticket value is counted by the media in whatever way is most harmful to them. For example a sold out arena in Toronto or Vancouver is based on gate sales. Here in Phoenix it’s based on bums in chairs. Toronto ticket prices are based on face value not on the secondary market price which has dropped significantly in the past few years, sometimes below face value. The double standard is frustrating for the fans in this market because it seems like no matter how things improve, there is always someone cheering us on to fail.
