Do you  enjoy reading stuff and learning absolutely nothing in the process? If so, here’s the transcript of New York coach John Tortorella’s press conference prior to tonight’s Rangers-Devils game at Madison Square Garden.

Question: I can’t remember in which series you said before, but you were asked if you looked for something in the team and you weren’t going to say what it was, but you had seen it. Is that still the case?

Q: And you’ve seen what you need to see?

Q: Is there a challenge emotionally with the quick turnaround from one series to the next?

Q: You alluded yesterday to you’re glad the team had the experience of two Game 7s.  So when other people are suggesting maybe 14 games isn’t the best way to start out…

COACH TORTORELLA:  It’s a bunch of crap.

Q: What does Ottawa or the Capitals or the Devils – does it really come down to what your team does?  Is that what your focus and preparation is?

COACH TORTORELLA:  We don’t spend too much time on the other team. We’re worried about our team.

Q: You said home ice doesn’t matter until you get to a Game 7.  Why is it different in Game 7 as opposed to any other home game?

COACH TORTORELLA:  I just feel that way.

Absolutely great move ! Be as boring as the communist team from jersey Torts,, great move ! If communist teams like the jersey team can do it, so can others ! AWESOME MOVE ! All teams should be as disciplined and boring as the communist team from jersey this way the NHL will fold in 5 years ! Torts is rubbing it in the NHL’s face and they don’t even know it !

He’s loosening up – he could have done that in 26 …..

    • danphipps01 - May 14, 2012 at 2:54 PM

They caught him in a good mood because they’d won the series. Gave ’em five on the house.

this is getting a little ridiculous torts. answer a question.

Every time he answers with an honest answer he has to pay the league a fine. I’d use fewer word too.

I hope the Devils beat the crap out the Rangers and Torts has nothing to say other than “We suck” repeatedly.

  5. sjsharks66 - May 14, 2012 at 2:21 PM

Let’s say the rangers win the cup. I can only imagine his comments after the game.

When did he go to the Belichick school of press conferences. The only people who complain about this are the babies in the media

  7. mycreativebacon - May 14, 2012 at 2:25 PM

What is getting ridiculous is the selective reporting on Torts being an ass. YES, he plays his cards close to his chest… he always has. That’s one of the many things we love about him. But why aren’t you talking about the press conferences like this one? A bit more than 31 words here….

  8. schlitzy - May 14, 2012 at 2:39 PM

I loved during game 7 against the Caps when Pierre asked him about a particular adjustment he replied “im not going to tell you that” with a big sh*t eating grin on his face. good to see him having some fun with the press. keep up the great work Torts!!

I hear New York just broke the record for the biggest tool!! Congrats Tort.

  10. stakex - May 14, 2012 at 3:58 PM

Hey, they can force him to sit there and take the questions…. they can’t force him to actually answer them.

Haha! Love the guy! Torts rocks! 24/7 made me respect the guy.
