Minny has a better chance than you think, you may want to huff more glue if you think they don't have a legitimate chance of getting him. Not saying they will sign him, but they will be in the mix

All of those things you described are the reasons why every other team in the league that can remotely afford to make an offer will do so. Parise is a special player. He's arguably one of the biggest superstars to ever come out of MN. We Minnesotans value our own more than anyone else. Zach would be a local hero forever if he came here.

He's obviously comfortable in NJ. He knows the area, he knows what his coach wants out of him, and he knows management. There are questions too though. What's going to happen with their goaltending once Brodeur retires? Can they afford to sign him to the size and length contract he desires and almost definitely has earned? Does he want to be the big superstar on the team or does he share the spotlight?

We love Zach here in NJ and would love to have him stay a lifelong Devil. Hopefully this year has helped convince him to stay.

But if he winds up leaving NJ, you're huffing glue if you think he wants to go to Minny.

A cup win can go two ways depending on the man, It can make a player more likely to return to defend it, or it can be a sense of accomplishment, a plateau and time to move on.

Some guys are union guys and will choose the highest bidder.
Also, does Marty walk away if they win a cup? And if he does, does that play in Parise's thinking?

A cup victory may help, or hurt his chances in staying, depending on what type of mindset Parise has and what Marty decides this summer.

per those quotes, it sounds like he is more likely to leave than re-sign and this is his last 'run' with the Devils. Just my interpretation

I am Parise fan, I hope he wins it all but would rather it be with my team.

"All the characteristics that have made New Jersey so compelling this postseason — unwavering discipline, relentless forecheck, strong boardwork, timely scoring — are embodied by Parise, the 27-year-old captain."

You hit the nail on the head Halsy, Parise IS this team.

If you were to construct a team around the type of system Deboer has put in place in New Jersey, Zach Parise is the player who best exemplifies everything about what makes that system successful. He's the type of player who is not only talented but one of the best LEADERS in the NHL - its amazing how this guy gets his nose in every single play on the ice, it must be really annoying to play against him.

PLEASE STAY ZACH
