Like I said. DENIAL.

It’s not about the NBA per se. I haven’t watched a basketball game in 30 years.

It’s about being a world class city that has world class events. Regardles of what we think world class events include NBA games, Soccer matches and Bicycle races. All of witch are held in Philadelphia.

Pittsburgh is not deemed worth by the powers that control these events.

Funny how people cant see life with anything other than pink glasses.Bryzgalov was awful at best and the main reason why we lost.Yeah the D was atrocious but it’s exactly why you have a goalie in a team to make it up for the mistakes made by the other players.People keep sayin that we need to improve our D well if you want us to have an all-star D then why spending 51 mil over 9 years to a goalie? The guy is getting paid top money so he needs to be a top performer which he is not.By the way dont you find it ironic that the 1st year he left Phoenix is the year they are getting a big run in the playoffs.Mark my words next year will be Bryz last in Philly

As a Coyotes fan, I’ve definitely seen this before…twice. Bryzgalov was superb in the regular season and then disappeared (for the most part) in the playoffs.

Pretty big difference between Phoenix and Philadelphia, both with the teams’ respective playing styles, and their environment as hockey cities. He’d never played in a place like Philly before.

It’s not a given he’ll be better next year, but it’s not fair to assume some of these factors didn’t play a role in his bad year. They almost certainly did.

One would HOPE he’ll be better next year. He had some good stretches- March, for example- and he was really one of the only Flyers to show up in the second round, but he also had some really boneheaded moments as well- not the least of which was that epic gaffe on Tuesday night.

Maybe that year Holmgren mentioned under his belt will help… certainly Flyers fans should be hoping so.
