Please dear Lord let the Rangers make the next round. This would setup as a NICE payback by the Devils to eliminate the phony Strangers and their overrated goalie.

The Rang-uhs winning the Cup in ’94 was the best thing to happen to them, but as it turned out, it was also the best thing to happen to the Devils. No NHL team was hungrier than the ’95 Devils, beating Cam Neely’s Bruins, Jagr’s Penguins, Lindros’ Flyers and sweeping Federov’s Red Wings for their 1st Cup. Best part is unlike the Rangers that were fat and happy after ’94, the Devils played in 3 more Cup finals winning 2 of them.

Nothing left to prove the Devils have a superior organization and history vs. the Rangers. But wouldn’t it be nice to see the Devils pound them this year?

my god yes I totally forgot about that. The Rangers defense is so stingy that the game comes to a freaking crawl on both sides. Hopefully the outrageous forecheck from the Philly series will break that open. But god were some of those regular season games painful to watch. If that happened in the Conference Finals it would validate all the “lol boring hurr hurr” comments.

I really don’t want to face the Rangers.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not afraid of them – I think it will be a hard fought series and the NY/NJ rivalry makes a great story.

But I still have nightmares of the game earlier in the season where these two teams had 28 shots on goal TOTAL.

It was the most agonizingly boring hockey game I’ve seen in a longgggg time, all due respect but the Rangers are PAINFULLY frustrating and boring to watch — I haven’t watched any of the Rangers/Caps series but from what I’ve read it seems like the Caps have adopted this system as well, so maybe we’re doomed to witness a mediocre ECF either way..
