My concern about Game 6 is the Caps actually destroying the Rangers with a 5 – 1 game as they explode on offense to force Game 7. Hint: the Caps will be skating at full speed the whole night! While this would be a great, the Rangers would certainly play a “get back at you” Game 7 that is going to be difficult for the Caps to win at MSG. I would prefer a Caps one-goal victory tonight!

Listen, I first saw Holtby in net at the end of the season two years ago. I told my son then hat this kid is as cool as the other side of the pillow, he’s as inflapable as any net minder I ve seen. I agree with two points, he will come back strong tomorrow an the Caps can send Vocoun on his way. There’s a new goalie in town!

Holtby was NOT the Caps issue last night… he has a .921 save% for crying out loud.

The goat is still Ovi-rated and his top-line, NON-goal scoring mates. Other than an assist and a couple hits… you never even heard his name.

Funny thing about hockey is… if you don’t score more than your opponent, you don’t win. Caps should demand MUCH more from those guys at this point…and last year, and the year before, and the year before that.

Hence…. my current sharp disdain for the Caps. As with the Canucks, they’re all hype, never delivering the complete and final package. Always FULL of excuses.

One of the few times that I will agree with you…. We had our chances, With Like you said. Chimmer having 2 Semi-Breakaways in the Opening Minutes, Semin absolutely destroying three 2on1′s and a 3on1, Backstrom ringing MAJOR IRON on that backhand (although I think Hank got a piece of it)… But you can’t let Ward off of the hook completely… There was no need for him to swing his stick up high like that with only 20 seconds left… You are begging for trouble. But, He is a stand up guy that I was far too harsh on last night. I was mad and upset, And I use my keyboard to take it out. JW42 is a great person and the way he has handled himself the last two weeks is inspiring… Here’s to hoping we come out and bury our chances on Wednesday Evening… LET’S GO CAPS!!!

i wouldnt be worried about him either. i would be more worried about the possesion time ny had this game and the amount of shots they are getting. granted the caps are blocking a lot of them but to block 25 and still allow another 38 to the net, (not counting the ones that hit the post) its a big indicator. caps can feel bad about the ward penalty but they also missed their chances when it was still 2 to 1 and missed their chances to win this game. backstrom hits the post, semin elects to pass to OV that gets broken up, the 3 on 1 that ovechkin passed across instead of shooting, chimera pushed one wide. if you can get a lead on ny they will take chances and therefore open themselves up to odd man rush opportunities, the caps just couldnt finish them this time.

Holtby has been good, definitely not great tho. He had let in a few very soft goals. If he has been playing great, his team wouldn’t be a game away from being out the playoffs

I couldn’t agree more! This kid is the real deal. There have been plenty of opportunities for him to collapse in both series. Yet he bounces back time and time again. He’s handling this like a guy that’s been doing this for years. Caps better hold on to him, there is the chance he’ll pull a Price, but I don’t think so.

The kid is solid. A lot of folks are bashing him saying he hasn’t faced real challenging shots, I say he’s just making it look easy. CAPS would be stupid to not keep him in net permanently… I’ve got a good feeling we haven’t seen the best of Holtby yet… RTR
