A team that’s been pretty much butt up against the salary cap since it was implemented and where they’ve had to fly players cross country constantly for a day or two to the AHL so they can save a few thousand bucks in space here and there is considered cheap?

And Wilson’s fine with off season moves for the most part (save for contracts given to 3rd pairing d-men). It’s the trade deadline that he seems to really struggle with making consistently solid moves (has there been one good trade deadline move in the last 5 years?)

Suter won’t be a Pronger replacement, he’d be more of a Kimmo Timonen replacement. There are only a few players that can replace Pronger, Suter is not one of them.

Gosh, can you imagine Suter, Parise, Granlund, Coyle and an outside chance of either Brodin or Phillips joining the Wild next year? Gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Stanley Cup in 2014.

Wonder why he said that. Out of great respect for a HOF defenseman, or because he knows if Lidstrom retires (or not-Stuart is probably gone), the Wings will make an offer to Suter.

Suter will re -sign with the Preds. That being said, not sure I want him back. He was as much to be blame for series loss to the Coyotes as anyone else. The fact he took the wait and see approach to his contract situation put unneeded pressure on the organization. It tells me it’s more about the $ and less about the team. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great player… just wish the Preds were more worried about winning than impressing Suter.
