Good to see we could shake both Nashville fans out of the trees...figuratively and literally? Suter rode into the NHL on his old man's name: that fact notwithstanding, he couldn't carry Nicklas Lidstrom's sweaty jock! Get real...the Wings are looking for some heavies on the front end who can nuke and duke! They're as good as gold on the blue line as is, and it wouldn't hurt your hockey cred to look a little deeper into a team's roster on and off the farm before making weighty and unqualified assessments. The problem for Predators supporters is they think everyone in the league is scrambling to pull players from their dismal array; an array that has lost interest and will no longer play for Trotz after pulling his sell-out to management gambit...? Well done Barry, but tell us why if it is such a privilege to play in the Stanley Cup playoffs, why competing players are effectively working for free? Some privilege! I understand Gary's looking for a few more management wannabees in the head-office so Trotz will never hurt for work...

Frankly, I'm surprised Weber gets a call? Aside from moving into that special category of elite players who are not in fact elite, the guy was basically invisible in the Predators playoff run! Talk about over-rated, Weber and his team went from flavor of the week and strongest contender in the west to a circus side-show wrongly played-out in a public forum. Predators management forgot the basic tenet known by teachers and coaches through time immemorial; attack a student or player publicly, and the student body and team will rise as one against the teacher and coach! The Nashville balloon went phhttttt as soon as Trotz and Poile drew a line in the sand! Look for Weber to headline in the WWF real soon...

Name a blueliner better at advancing the puck than Suter. His passes are money and he's a heady player.

Weber is better and you can't dump 15 mill into your top pairing.

Josi's upside is huge with the way he played this year as a rookie, Buillon was solid in the playoffs (give him 1 yr deal), and Ellis will be ready in his 2 season.

Resign Gill and move Josi up with Weber.

Weber-Josi
Gill-Klein
Buillon-Ellis
*Ekholm, Hillen(cheap UFA)

That doesn't suck; rather formidable in fact.

A lot of people will probably be surprised to know that the idea of losing Suter isn't a huge deal for many Nashville fans. There is a feeling he has held the team hostage all year and there is some loss of respect for him. If he leaves I don't think he can expect a hero's welcome back if he returns to play in Nashville.
