There is so much parity in the NHL that the hottest and most healthy teams advance. The teams in your division don’t matter once the playoffs start. I don’t think the Bruins would be any better or worse off if Montreal and Toronto didn’t suck as much as they did. Washington and NY barely got by Boston and Ottawa. There’s very little separating teams right now.
