I liked Brouwer with the Hawks, but he can disappear quite easily with the Caps…maybe it’s cause he’s not on a line with Toews and Kane like he was so often in Chicago? Bowman may have messed up some stuff, but getting a 1st rounder for Brouwer was awesome.

Of course its his fault. It not like he took a “good” penelty that prevented a goal or something. He took a completely pointless penelty at a REALLY bad time, and his team lost as a direct result of it. There is simply no way this loss does not fall squarely on him.

I know Brouwer and the rest of the Caps are going to cricle the wagons to the media, but they all know why they lost. Expect Ward to see a lot less ice time in game six…

Wardo is one of the caps best defensive players on the roster.

This mistake was costly and they got burned, but if that game situation comes up again in game 6, i throw him back out there.

Hes a very underrated player.

How could Ward NOT be held accountable? It was a stupid penalty that left his team short-handed for BOTH the tying and winning goals in the most pivotal game of the series. It’s the very definition of “fault”. Admire his teammate for trying to defend him, but does anybody actually buy into that? I doubt it. This one’s on you, Ward. Fortunately for you, you have a chance to redeem yourself.
