Don’t understand how the fight gave the Kings a spark. They did score 5 minutes later, but it was not from sustained pressure. It was from a rush down the ice and a nice shot through a screen, high glove side. It anything it woke the Blues up a little. The Kings had little offensive pressure the rest of the game (they played great defense and that’s all that mattered after that goal). The Blues just couldn’t finish and Quick played great.

The “shhh” routine wasn’t exactly well-thought-out, admittedly, given how thoroughly his team was being dominated in the series, but it’s good to see Chris Stewart show that he actually cares when it matters. He was one of the best things about the Blues in these last two games. Good on him for rising to the challenge when the pressure was on. It was too little, too late, but he made the Kings work for game three and it’s only fair he gets credit where credit is due.

I think the “shhhhh” only works after losing a fight. Talbot did it after losing to Carcillo and the Penguins comeback to win the series. Kris Letang tried it after mopping the ice with kimmo timonen in the 1st round and nothing. Chris Stewart tried it here and got no result after winning the fight. Strangely it seems like only losers of the fight should be “shhhhh”ing.
