YES AND NO …

Friends … I remember that series like it was only yesterday. Yes it was a great ride, with Wayne in our vanguard “personally” leading the way ! Such joy, such hope, such promise ! … and then when it looked like we were actually going to do it, came that “under-handed and cowardly” call by that Frenchman on McSorely’s stick … such sadness … such darkness

But that was then and this is now ! Granted, there are some legitimate comparisons to be made. However, when you step back and look at the two teams in their entirety, it then becomes clearly evident that there’s a world of difference between them ! I can honestly say that in all my 38 years of LA Kings support, never before have I seen our team better prepared, better equipped or better coached than this one ! Both our offense and defense is “bristling” with deadly firepower and we have the absolute very “best in the business” in net ! Yet it doesn’t stop there … besides being a genius, our coach is a “stand up” comedian who brings smiles to people’s faces with the utterance of just a single word ! … we have players who love being throttled into the boards because “it feels so pure” ! … and on and on and on … so with all due respect to Gretzky and company back then, the fact is that this is the “very best” LA Kings team ever !

GO KINGS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a Kings fan for 40 years and season ticket holder form almost 30, we know how it is to see our team dissed by the media. While I’m getting a kick out of all the positive things that are being said about my Kings and seeing how well they are playing, I have to say that Phoenix is also playing a great game. No one is saying anything about how well the Coyotes are playing and their goal tender is also no slouch either. Their lack of acknowlegement will be a great motivational attitude adjuster should we both meet up in the Western Conference finals which looks more and more possible. I mean, Phoenix did win the division. It would/will be a great series and possibly the best one of the playoffs.
