These comments from Backes are not unexpected … and they amount to nothing more than sheer “bravado” from a foe who is now all but vanquished. The fact of the matter is that for us Kings, these playoffs have thus far equated to walking on some sidewalk covered with “confused and frightened” ants ! We quickly demolished the Canucks, leaving their organization in a complete and utter shambles … and now we’re on the verge of doing the very same thing to these Blues, though I doubt that when this is over, they’ll go through the same sort of “soul searching” which the Canucks are now doing. Nonetheless, it’s imperative that we stay focused and press home the attack with ever greater zeal ! Not wanting to sound too presumptuous, it now appears like we’ll be facing “AIG” in the next round ? … crushing them will be “satisfying” in more ways than one ! … and then after them we’ll reach the “high ground” for that last epic encounter, where dreams can become reality. Yes friends, these are indeed good times, no doubt about it. But let’s ensure that we stay in the moment here and continue to take this thing “one step on “one” ant at a time” … :)
