they're satisfied with the same every year. putting people in the seats and getting that extra $$$ from the playoffs is all that matters to them. A Cup, not so much. as long as the fans keep showing up, it won't change.

I know they haven't won the cup- but they are in the playoff's every year- and before this year were in the Western Conference finals two years in a row. As well as a place that many big-names have waved no-trade clauses to come to because of the organization's reputation. So yeah- get used to it/

I'm on the fence with Wilson as a GM. He has made some big trades (Thornton, Heatley, Boyle) that seem like good deals- but the circumstances always helped him (Must GM's didn't know Thornton was available, and Heatley and Boyle had to be shipped and had no-trade clauses and essentially chose San Jose), meanwhile his deadline moves have almost all been flops, and the development system is devoid of any decent prospects outside of goaltenders. I don't think he's been bad- but I do think he is tremendously over-rated. I'm sure there's exceptions to everything I just said, but that's my overall impression of him since he took over. I do know this- the big time guys he's acquired haven't gotten it done- and he hasn't built a farm system that provides any cheap depth around them so there isn't much help on the way. He's put a lot of eggs in that Thornton/Marleau basket.

More proof that the Sharks ownership has no real intention of winning anything, only making money.

Since May 2000, only the Red Wings have won more games.. so yes.. Sharks are/were elite.
