The people in Vegas who could afford to build one have no interest in building one because they aren't going to do anything that takes away from people sitting in their casinos gambling. As far as a venue goes I'm no fool a pro franchise is never coming here but as far as events the arena would do wonders.First we would keep the national finals rodeo and the pro bullriders tour which makes this city tons of money.Plus big events like UFC or that alleged Mayweather Pacquiao fight they keep teasing(both will be well past their prime when or if it happens) and even perhaps an NCAA opening round. The Thomas and Mack is a nice arena but in dire need of a total renovation as its well past it's shelf life.

..and just where do you think that cities going to find someone to back such an expensive venture!? ....

I can't agree more. It's so clearly the first logical step towards acquiring a serious tenant, and it's not like a smart management team couldnt fill it with events throughout the year..

I love in Vegas and I go to this every year. The Kings fans there are class acts and quite funny. My on,y gripe is the MGM grand Garden is not even close to being a hockey venue (there's not even a scoreboard!its a sheet with the scorecard image projected on it!)Maybe one day the city council, will, stop shelving arena plans and get one built here.
