Not to brag or anything, but the NHL, in collaboration with NBC Sports (yay us), won the Montgomery Burns Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence a Sports Emmy last night in the category of Outstanding Sports Promotional Announcement Episodic.
Without further ado, here’s the 2011 Stanley Cup Final TV spot, “No Words.”

Well that spot was from 2010, not 2011. The last couple years the playoff commercials were awesome. This year…not so much.

Kinda curious how one from 2010 wins this year

Have to agree. “Because it’s the Cup” doesn’t even come close to touching either iteration of the “History Will Be Made” commercials.

That Emmy should get revoked for playing nickleback during broadcasts

Man, no kidding. We’re REALLY supposed to like Nickelback, apparently- they play their crap every chance they get this year! Thank the hockey gods for the mute button!

History will be made is still the best. I always get choked up when I see the two Flyers ones.
