its a radical change…they had all the room to do it. watching the pittsburgh series i was like, ok it’s the series, we have a chaotic series but i really got it when i saw how they played the third against jersey. i cant remember seen anything like that…constant movement and chaos.

You hit the nail on the head on the Flyers game. This is why their two stars got shipped off last off season. Too busy partying it up and too slow on the ice.

At this point, I don’t see the Flyers losing this series. I was a bit nervous coming in, but I think they take it in 6 (Losing a game they should of won). I don’t see much in the Devils PP that scares me with Kovulchuk out (or to be honest, playing as poorly as he was fighting through it), and without that X factor, the Flyers are just too deep.

If you read the article, you see multiple guys talk about how they had to play like they did in the first. I honestly don’t think they played all that well in the first. I was just that the Flyers were standing around waiting for pucks, and not playing aggressively. Once they got their legs under them and shook off the rust, the Devils had no answer. I see no reason to think that won’t continue through the series. The Devils top 2 lines can hang with the Flyers, no doubt, But when you start getting to the 3rd and 4th, they just can’t stack up

the problem with that is then you have to “out flyer the flyers.” their “puck pursuit” we’re s lets giddy up and f*****g go team mentality is an identity that they have practiced since Laviollette was hired…the core knows it and the kids got the legs for it. they play a fast game (organized chaos really, watch puck move and the players move with and with out it in the offensive zone, it’s total havoc,) and not to mention probably the best conditioned team in the league. The Devils need to play there game win or lose or it will resemble the Pittsburgh series where Philly got inside their heads way to early…sounds like it’s happening again from the coaches comments…every game in the playoffs is a must win and systems are what win in todays game you can’t change yours or you will be out worked due to too much thinking and play sloppy. in the words of the great herb brooks “Play Your Game.”
