Also.. I cant believe I missed this and nobody else commented on it.. You want to give a coach a statue outside of an arena bc he played a part in keeping a franchise in a city? If that isn’t the most mediocre reason for giving a guy a statue, I sure as hell haven’t heard one that beats it. Normal franchises save the statues for guys for have brought multiple championships. Not Phoenix huh? Just keeping a hockey is reason enough there. Unreal.

Atlantic Division is by far the hardest and best division. You figure we beat the heck out of each other more than any other team, yet our teams 1-4 could’ve won most divisions in hockey. That means every team playing Atlantic Division teams got beat most of the time. Lastly as a Flyer fan who cares Pete didn’t get nominated. I mean really people, you should know by now we are hated and awards the NHL controls, won’t let Flyers win anything. Let’s just win the cup and call it a day. Can’t wait for Flyers-Rangers! The Big Apple versus The City of Brotherly Love! Love it

First off, you are talking of one series that’s was wide open it Pitt/Philly. That’s just how the series was played. The rangers are playing incredible defense in the playoffs and the devils aren’t too shabby themselves. It’s not like your yotes aren’t giving up goals themselves. Bit despite all that, the Atlantic division is the best division look at the standings. I think the 4th placed devils had more points then. Your division leader. Plus yeah 3 Atlantic division teams still play for the Stanley cup.

Look at the playoffs:

Flyers, Rangers & Devils all from the Atlantic are still remaining. Only Pittsburgh from the Atlantic isn’t in anymore and that’s because they got beat by the Flyers.

You are right that there was ZERO defense in the Pitt/Philly series, but generalizing it to the whole Atlantic is stupid. Last I checked, the Rangers did a pretty decent job defensively all season, and especially in the Ott series. And the Atlantic was no doubt the best division in hockey this year, with the central in the west a close 2nd.

Look at the playoff!! Kings the 8th seed beat the 1st seed Canuks in 5 games. Coyotes beat the Hawks and so far they are dominating the Preds. How can you not watch the playoffs and realize this? The defense being played by the teams in the Atlantic is atrocious at best. Philly gave up 9 goals in a playoff game and won the series. I do admit they have some skilled players. But better teams….not a chance. Bad hockey fundamentals to say the least!

I don’t blame you for being all fired up about the Coyotes, you should be. But to say they’re in the best division on hockey is insane. It’s not even the best division in your conference. Toss up between the Central and Atlantic for best in the league. That being said, would love to see you guys finish off Nashville.

You are out of your mind if you think San Jose, Dallas, Phoenix, and LA is a better division than the rangers, flyers, penguins, devils, and so on. That division you mentioned isn’t even the best in the west. You seem to miss Detroit, st louis, Chicago, Nashville in the central.

How the hell is Laviolette not on the list? The Flyers traded away their captain and their leading scorer in the off season, then they lose their new captain for the entire season, and yet they’ve done as well as they have. Not only did he not make the finalists, but he didn’t even make this list of snubbed finalists? Give me break.

Tippet was robbed. The competition in the Pacific was unreal, L.A, Dallas, San Jose and Phoenix beat up on each other all year. In my opinion, the best division in hockey. So it is logical that the coach of the best team in the best division is the best coach, right? Tipp has done more with less than any coach in NHL history! If the Yotes are able to keep the franchise in Phoenix I think a Tippet statue outside Jobbing.com would help prove that he is a coach that saved a franchise.
