His pickup of Boyd Gordon, Kyle Chipchura, and Mike Smith at the start of the season was not bad either. He is a great fit in Phoenix with coach Dave Tippet! My nomination for GM of the year…again!

Coyotes had hit the contract cap and needed to move an additional asset. McElhinney was injured into the end of the season and is a free agent this summer. He was part of the deal but did not have any real value to Columbus.
