With a Rangers/Caps series it just felt right bringing up Druce.

If the Flyers fans are a little on edge it’s because we’ve been putting up with some Pen’s fans that are total trolls. I don’t expect to be seeing much of them these days.

The only way I was comparing Druce and Kreider is that they were/are rookies and making a big splash in the playoffs.

Those actually weren’t directed towards you. It was more towards that turd tackledummy and Philly something or other. You seem to actually know what you’re talking about, the fact you mentioned druce. If you see their comments on other posts, they are brutal. Big difference w Kreider and druce though. Druce had a great series but was never really touted as anything. Kreider is a first rd pick w tons of tools, he’s 6’3 and 220 and still getting bigger, who is one of the fastest skaters in the league. Plus he has a winning pedigree. The rangers thought so highly of him they called him up for the playoffs wasting a yr of his entry level. He’s one guy of their many prospects they refused to give up.

Yes but… it’s typical Caps.

STATS show the played well enough to win…. but they lost.

That’s what leads to the ‘head case’ moniker, similar to Canucks, Sharks, Sens.

If you can’t finish, the stats are nothing more than tools for frustration.

As a caps fan, I do admit that during the season the Defense sometimes was less than satisfactory and the team was inconsistent. Hopefully in the offseason the Caps can pick up some veteran DEFENSIVE Defensemen, because the Offensive Ones Boudreau picked up last offseason don’t fit well with Hunter’s system. If you don’t believe me, somebody named Dennis Wideman was out of position for two straight games against the Bruins and almost cost them the series.

I did say he’s playing well. I’ve seen too many players explode onto the NHL playoff stage only to become a 3rd or 4th line player and never to repete their early exploits.

As a Ranger fan I’m sure the name John Druce rings a bell.

I’m not saying they’re the same type of player but it’s only a handful of games and I’m sure the Sen’s and the Cap’s are not changing the game plan because Kreider is seeing a regular shift.

Sather thought enough of Kreider to make him off-limits in the Rick Nash Sweepstakes. I personally was hoping the Rangers would land Nash for Kreider , JT Miller and Dubinsky. I felt they needed a large power forward that could score. Turns out Kreider may be that missing power forward. Hags and Kreider will be integral parts of the Rangers over the next few years. Dubinsky will not. I guarantee he will be traded by the Rangers before the draft.

See, the suspension on Hagelin was actually the brainchild of Shanny to get Kreider more playing time so he could have his shot at being the Conn Smythe trophy winner for the playoffs! LOL!
Seriously, if Hunter stays on as coach in Washington, there will be many names now on the Caps that will be playing in KHL. Semin, Green, and Knuble will all be gone, plus there will be a couple of others moved by trades. And just as Torts banished Redden and Avery to the Whale, Hershey may have their own 6 million dollar man!

based on all these Ranger articles, there is always a few flyer fans sprinkled in telling everyone how bad the rangers are, how they are terrible on O, not a good team, shouldnt have won, will lose in 6, will be beat at MSG on monday etc etc. just give it a rest already. Worry about your series with the devils and let the rangers and their fans worry about the caps. You guys already have yourselves penciled in for the eastern finals. The way the Rangers are shredded by you guys youd think they didnt have 50 wins and totally manhandle the flyers the entire season. I dont even want to hear its “its a difft team now” youve always had this offense, the same O that averaged under 2 goals a game in six meetings vs the rangers. you played well vs pitt, you guys own them. Each round is difft. Good luck to you guys, id love nothing more than to face philly in an eastern finals, barring we both advance.

I’m not a ranger fan…but i have to say that while he scored just 2 goals, Kreider looks like someone who has been in the league for at least 5 years now. the kid has a great sense of awareness and is taking charge out there on the ice. 5 games in the guy is directing traffic out there like a true leader.

I don’t think the Caps should be too upset after that. Holtby was below average, the Caps hit 5 pipes, the refs screwed the Caps out of a goal/powerplay on the Mojo break, Mojo got picked on the 2nd goal with no call, and Callahan looked like Kessler on that dive after the “slash” by Semin.

Caps will be playing at Verizon Center next week with the series tied 1-1.

Rangers played well after a short rest and outskated the Caps in the 3rd. Yeah, we got away with a penalty on the breakaway, but two good D teams will keep the series close. Holtby may have been nervous. Hopefully we can continue to find his cracks. LETS GO RANGERS!

Amazing how people did not think Kreider should have joined the rangers. The suspension to Hagelin while costly could be one of the greatest things to happen to the Rangers this season. What a game by Fedotenko guy was a beast on 5-3. Richards had a great effort on his goal. The play where Johansson and Stralman came down should have been a penalty the way I saw it. Great play by Laich for the goal would love to have that guy on the team. WTH is Semin doing such unnecessary penalties he’s lucky the Rangers did not capitalize horrible plays by him. And also a quick shot out to the Iron you did good today keep it up.

As a Rangers fan I hope he plays like this all series because if he does it will be a short series. He made all of eleven save s on fourteen shots so suggesting he did all he could is silly.

As a caps fan I don’t think u can say the caps d let him down. Rangers had 14 shots. If the second goal gets stopped by holtby its a different game. Although mike green could have dived to blocked the shot. It was a combo of both on the goals
