No one actually running the team wants him.

Habs ambassador Guy Lafleur was as quoted as saying that Roy would be better suited to run the Quebec Nordiques.

That said, Molson/Savard need to be looking at smart hockey guys to get ‘bang for the buck’ and cap wizards, not sentimental favorites.
