One thing that keeps getting mentioned is how amazing Holtby was and how he was the reason the Caps advanced....

Both the Rangers and Caps won in OT of game 7.

Holtby gave up 15 goals in 7 games, for a 2.00 GAA and 940 S%.
Lundqvist gave 12 goals in 7 games, for a 1.70 GAA and 940 S%.

Holtby ranks 8th in playoff GAA and 7th in playoff S%.
Lundqvist is 5th in playoff GAA and 5th in playoff S%.

Holby was good, but not as good as Lundqvist (who really was great). Holtby beat the higher-seeded defending stanley cup champs playing good. Lundqvist had to be great to beat the 8th-seeded Senators.

I just don't understand how the Rangers are such a heavy favorite. They're a one-man show. Lundqvist is going to have to actually be BETTER than he was in the first round because the Caps are a better team than Ottawa and have a better goalie than Ottawa.

"Of the three teams that won at least 50 games in the regular season, only the New York Rangers remain." This could be the difference in the series. But in reality, this one's up for grabs, and going to be a fantastically competitive series. I'm not a fan of either team but hope to see Mr. Ovechkin on the highlight reels. He needs to shine brighter than ever for his team to have a chance to win the Cup, and what better stage to do it on than Madison Square Garden. The Rangers' home ice advantage is also key.
