I agree…although eddie is a good guy he has the IQ of an amoeba. More help from Keith and Seabrook??? Are you kidding me? The problem all year was they were on the ice too much. Letting Campbell go had a big effect on defense minutes and entry into the zone on the pp. The goaltending was terrible…Crawford belongs in Rockford. Stan and Q need to go. There is only two players worth keeping…Shaw and Toews in that order.

@Blackhawkfan…..Leddy logged a ton of minutes this year and he’s done pretty damn well. He’s almost equal in points with Seabrook and Keith, not too mention he had 3 points in 5 playoff games. The kid just turned 21 for crying out loud, of course he makes mistakes, it’s part of the learning curve. He wasn’t up for the whole year last year either. Keith, Seabrook,Leddy and Hjalmersson are the core. Oduya isn’t bad (unless he’s being too casual with the puck and gets it picked), but they have enough puck carrying defensemen, they need some bruisers that set a tone on the physical side. That’s my take anyway.

Good point. I just mentioned it because there have been rumblings Staal’s unhappy with his role, which would be understandable. I don’t know if that’s true or not or what the cap situation might be like.

It’ll probably never happen, but an interesting trade proposal I thought.

Seeing as the only reason the Penguins would consider letting Staal go would be money/salary cap related, I don’t think getting Kane in return would be the answer. I can see the Hawks wanting Staal, but I don’t know what the Pens would want in return at a lower cost but still high value.

Help for Keith? Let’s start with “Hey Duncan – don’t give the puck to the other team 3 or 4 times a game”

The Hawks D was awful all year. Leddy is young, granted, but he’s been up for 2 seasons and still making dumb mistakes. Hjalmarsson and Seabrook I would keep, the rest can go away

How about Olczyk puttin the pads back on and lacing them up again to demonstrate what he wants to see players do. I’d love to see him dressed as a goalie dealing with a breakaway from some of the fastest skaters in the league, or better yet, as a shot blocker going up against Chara or Weber.

Easy to spout off on who should and who should not… Not so easy when you’re on the ice.
