Do fights really make a difference in hockey? That answer can vary during the regular season in particular, but they tend to have more potential to inspire during the playoffs. Katie Strang reports that the New York Rangers claimed that happened against the Ottawa Senators tonight when Brandon Prust dropped the gloves with lightning rod forward Chris Neil:

Stay tuned for a Neil quote that surely will make him even more despised by the Rangers and their fans. (Yes, it’s possible.)

At least Neil knows how to man up when he wants to punch a guy, unlike some Sens players.

Neil probably won the fight, but sometimes just dropping the gloves is enough to get a team fired up.

Oh, Neil totally won this fight, but Prust helped the Rangers win tonight’s war.

Neil is really getting close to the line, if he hasn’t crossed it. Now he’s threatening DZ, class act there.

Lol he won the fight but not by a huge margin… He’s twice Prust’s size he should’ve killed him lol.. I’d love to see Neil fight Rupp we all know who’d win that fight
