I agree Dougy, you don’t need a lot of scoring for exciting hockey, I just hate defensive trap, but hey, if it works, gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck to the Yotes and the Preds. I don’t see the Coyotes getting past this round. Preds are a very deep team.

You don’t need 12 goals a game for exciting hockey. Yeah it’s fun, but all 4 teams left in the west have outstanding goalies and are all very physical. Lots of OT hockey to come

Hey Wisbadger, yeah, the Internet tough guy that takes to insulting people on story boards, probably grew up in Wisconsin and didn’t actually go to college there, and has so much insecurity about your own education you try to bring others down to your level. Give it a rest. Everyone knows the Blackhawks are a more talented team than the Coyotes, but we did get out-goaltender. Re-vamp roster? I think not, only someone as ignorant as you would come up with such an idea. Good luck in the most boring round of hockey to come.

Jamal Mayers although a 4th liner played his role about as good as you can. Montador, honestly I wouldnt be surprised if he retires. His deal was frontloaded and with concussions…. With his money gone maybe they can get Suter.:) Suter Keith Seabrook Leddy….Ill take that top 4 anyday

Smith isnt that good of a goalie. Doesnt anyone remember the Lightning traded to get Dwayne freaking Roloson because the combination of Mike Smith and Dan Ellis sucked so bad? That was last year. It’s the Defensive style of play the Yotes use that makes Smith look invincible. Thats not to say that Crawford really sucks the big one.

The Hawks totally went away from what worked in the past and that was a tough net presence with big bodies in the way. It’s like they forgot what won them the cup. The team never replaced players like Byfuglien and Ladd. So while they were taking all those shots on Smith, there was no traffic in front. I don’t think Q used his team adequately enough that is to say he didn’t change his philosophy and or adapt and while there were three forwards digging the puck out of the corners, there was nobody to pass it to.

To be fair though, not one of the off season acquisitions panned out not Montador, Carcillo or O’Donnell. They had to wait to get Oduya and whatever that other guy’s name was from Calgary. Going into the season they thought they had plugged some of those holes from the previous year then, during the 9 game trip, the damn started leaking. Crawford wasn’t terrible but he wasn’t great and that is what it takes to win a cup. Congrats to Phoenix and good luck going forward.

If anyone spots Kane and Sharp somewhere please call the Chicago Police Department they’ve been missing since October.

Absolutely hate this style of Hockey. Congrats to the Yotes, but the less talented team won. The Yotes, Kings, Blues, and Preds play a style that sucks to watch ( no wonder they have trouble with attendance) with that said they have to play that way in order to win. Catch 22. With these 4 teams left, watch the ratings go in the toilet. The DEAD PUCK ERA LIVES

Gotta give it thumbs up to both teams. For every game, except for this one, had to be decided in o.t. That’s just good old hockey. i like the hawks but i always like seeing a team, that is not the/a favorite and a team that hasn’t gone too far in the past years get a win. Preds vs Yotes should be a very good series. The West looks very interesting and a might have the team to be possible cup winners.

Congrats to the Yotes. Being a Hawks fan, that was a hard game to swallow. While I’m not a fan of that style of hockey, the Coyotes were really tight defensively and had a hot goalie. For some reason the Hawks struggle against those types of teams. Good luck against the Preds, hopefully there’s not too many 1-0 triple overtime snoozefests. The Hawks will be back next year, hopefully with some sort of competent goaltending.
