What did you expect him to say? “The NHL are a bunch of idiots, and don’t know what they’re doing?” Maybe when he’s having a beer at home, he’ll fess up and say what he really thinks, but he’s not going to say anything publicly against his bosses.

Gee…I wonder which bootlick featured in the interview wants to keep his job? Maloney’s about-face pretty much qualifies him for a fast-track to the NHL League Office after the Coyotes move to Quebec City. Better stock-up on Right Guard’s Electric Blue 48 hour protection…the place is rank with the stink of hypocrisy!

The Hagelin elbow to Alfredsson’s head and the 3 game suspension seems kind of light compared to 25 games for Torres.

There has clearly been an about face by the league to clean up the NHL image, pronto.

You can argue all day long about the “traditions” of hockey and whether violence is a part of that, but the bottom line is today’s NHL doesn’t want most people THINKING that it is a part of its tradition. Period.

I for one think its a smart move by the NHL as popularity of the sport is a good thing for everyone involved as long as its core remains. We want to see hard clean hits all day long. But not this kind of stuff.
