Last night was easily the best the Sharks have played this series, the toughest and the most aggressive they’ve been on the forecheck….but even under the pressure the Blues did a good job of maintaining composure….a lot of times during they year they would start chasing too much in their own zone and the defense would break down, last night they absorbed the pressure and gave up very few quality chances.

It’s hard to be surprised at what’s happened this year when you consider that it’s been four years now without a major adjustment to the way the Sharks play the game. Hammer and hope, spray and pray, they just try to get lucky with rebounds from point shots. It worked in year 1 when it was fresh and new to the team but it has gotten much less effective with each passing year. Now everyone in the game knows exactly what the Sharks are going to do every time they touch the puck (and that’s just their problems on offense, defense has always been a mess during the T-Mac era).
