I disagreed with Coach Sutter's decision the other night to offer the Canucks a stay of execution ... even though I do appreciate the wisdom of granting them some "token" respect at the end. Nonetheless, it's enough now with this "magnanimity and gentlemanly" behavior thingt. Come Sunday night, I say finish them off and do it in style ! GO KINGS GO !

Because the league wants the games to run back to back regardless (if there is 4, back to back to back to back). The more they can space them out, the more they can get ratings out of it. If they come out now and say, "this game starts at 1, this game at 3, this game at 5, and this game at 7. What happens if the 3 o'clock game, and the 5 o'clock game are both called off becuase the series is over? How many viewers would of watched the next game after the 1 o'clock game, but aren't going to come back 5 hours later for it?

Like 95% of the decisions that come from the league, this is all about money

I realize he's kind of talking tongue-in-cheek, but this has nothing to do with what either Ottawa or Vancouver want. Ottawa plays Saturday, and given any kind of option at all (which I'm fairly certain they aren't being given), the Canucks would start the game no earlier than 6 or 7.

Not sure what the hold up is even about - make this the late game, assume that at least one of the other two will go in either the afternoon or 7 EDT. If we get something ridiculous like an 11:00 am PDT start time I'll be choked.
