Even on an HDTV watching that Caps game was enough to wake the whole family up. That’s what the Caps need to win this series — a sea of bright red at Verizon Center and fans screaming their hearts out. Truly one of the loudest fan bases I’ve ever seen and one of the most loyal, because selling out 148 straight games isn’t something to laugh at.

I get the whole trying to get their attention thing to add 0.9 onto the clock, but FIVE+ seconds to say, “screw it, puck dropped, got to start the time”?

Noise will never cause that, they messed up and are playing CYA. They have big light that goes on for TV timeouts that all the officals check.

The Boston feed showed the whistle blow for the final face off with at least 12.5 seconds left but it ran down to 9. Julien was also show screaming at the ref for more time to be added and at least one ref was physically talking to the off-ice officials so “too loud” doesn’t make a ton of sense. then the clock didn’t run for a good 5-6 seconds once the puck was actually dropped if Bergy had finished that last shot it would have been a heart breaking debacle..”The NHL where debacles happen”
