I wouldn’t link his celebrations to his captaincy. Toews, Doan, Iginla, H. Sedin, Pronger, Weber are all captains who wouldn’t do the jump-up-and-down-and jump-hug other people routine. Captains are chosen for team presence, and can play enthusiastically without celebrating like crazy.

But I must check what I’m saying, I don’t think Parise’s celebrations are that bad.

He has been OK in the playoffs. Basically a coin flip in my eyes if you keep Clemmer’s performance on Tuesday in mind. But Clemmer looked weak last night and his positioning was off. Might switch back to shake things up.

@scottmullin…I’m not sure if Theo is the best choice. He has been playing poorly since the last games of the regular season and has been pretty bad in the playoffs

lameasish…have you noticed the “C” on the front shoulder of Parise’s jersey? The “C” is sewn on the jersey of the team captain. A team captain is chosen by the Head Coach on whom displays leadership ability, hustle, enthusiasm for the game and a player you want all others to emulate. I’ll take an emotional team captain who wants to win over one out there just for a pay check. You state he needs to “relax” — relaxed NHL hockey players are now on golf courses rather than battling for the Cup!

I actually don’t mind the devils but parise acts like every goal he scores is the Stanley Cup winner, he needs to relax a bit. Someone from the panthers should remind him of that, if they have a player that does stuff like that..

Devils won this game from the net forwar. Brodeur played great, better than I’ve seen him in a quite a while. But at the same time, this series still feels like a see-saw matchup. Devils’ offense still feels inconsistent from period to period. Panthers should stick Theodore back in, and maybe that will wake the team up like the Clemmensen switch did.
