Bryzgalov leaves practice early

Not sure what to make of this yet, but Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov left practice after 10 minutes and, you guessed it, out onto the ice came Michael Leighton.

Leighton, 30, spent the entire season in the AHL with Adirondack, where he appeared in 56 games (.918 SV%). His last NHL game was Dec. 30, 2010.

It’s likely Bryzgalov is battling some form of injury (though given what happened last night, we suppose there’s an outside chance he got pulled from practice for giving up too many goals.)

More to come.

Head case! Have fun watching the next 3 games Philly fans! Who will the scapegoat be? Bryz? Lavy? The dope that made that retarded pic of Sid? Start hedging your bets now!

just dont disappear for 3 months when Philly takes 1 of the next 3 games ok big guy?

      • mediatedviscera - Apr 19, 2012 at 2:35 PM

i already have his IP address.

      • melonheadsdaddy - Apr 19, 2012 at 3:09 PM

Should this make me nervous? Looks like yet another pens fan #pulledacrosby because you can give but can’t take….good luck with my ip address. Make sure you tell them a flyers fan. It will probably help your argument…ha “oh no! I can’t post on prohockeytalk anymore!” your a cyber bully sir…hahaha

The Flyers playoff goaltending issues would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic. Pens now strategizing how to let in less than 5 goals a game, which pretty much should guarantee a W.

  3. jpelle82 - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:04 PM

the flyers have proven they can win a run and gun shootout with basically no goalie in net (game 2 and 3). they might actually be glad if he is hurt or has gone crazy, takes the pressure off from feeling obligated to play their big money guy.

  4. jimw81 - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:09 PM

he’s fine. he took a shot in the bot

  5. 1943mrmojorisin1971 - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:26 PM

Probably just let in too many goals.

  6. dockeyhog - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:37 PM

He does have a chip bone fracture in his foot. That’s why he missed a few games right at the end of the regular season. That type of thing doesn’t just heal up in a couple of days but you can play through it.

    • hockeyflow33 - Apr 19, 2012 at 3:19 PM

why is no one else mentioning this? It should be a bigger deal because it totally explains his lack of explosiveness

  7. kp20520 - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:41 PM

Melonhead, big guy? How’d you know? You must be experienced in gauging the size of men?

    • melonheadsdaddy - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:53 PM

yes. i also love men. how witty you pittsburgh folk can be. classy too, considering one of your own penguin bretheren wanted to have me removed from the site for “saying suck my vick” would have been better than his comment of “go sleep with one of the eagles o-lineman”..after all….who doesnt love a great play on words in the great state of Pennsylvania!!

if youll excuse me, my boyfriend is waiting for me outside…its a beautiful day for chasing butterflies…

      • pbhatesphilly - Apr 19, 2012 at 2:33 PM

wow, philly fans would be funny if they weren’t so pathetic.

    • mediatedviscera - Apr 19, 2012 at 2:37 PM

sounds like you would know with all those pictures of little man Burnside flossing with Sid’s lil’ toy.

    • pbhatesphilly - Apr 19, 2012 at 2:39 PM

first of all if my kids call me “daddy” i soap their mouths, thats gay. and to call your kid mellonhead, wow how proud he must be of you.

  8. kp20520 - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:44 PM

Saying “they will win one of the next 3 games” isn’t exactly oozing with confidence… Would you care to make a prediction, big guy?

    • melonheadsdaddy - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:48 PM

i have said from the beginning Flyers in 6. I was hoping for a sweep. didn’t work out that way, but at least i can man up and admit when my teams gets OWNED. to put it mildly. i also noticed that after getting owned, the flyers didnt have one (let alone 3) disciplinary hearings….just sayin…

      • creasemasta41 - Apr 19, 2012 at 2:27 PM

Good to see there are still true fans that can admit when their team loses. Too many idiots and bandwagoners that don’t have a clue sometimes

      • pbhatesphilly - Apr 19, 2012 at 2:36 PM

well the goons had to be sedated to play the way they have, otherwise they would be forfeiting by now. ya know with everyone being sit down. ya know.

      • vez79 - Apr 19, 2012 at 2:44 PM

No disciplinary hearings…fine…but not because they didn’t try last night. I think people are forgetting that game 1 SHOULD have been a Pittsburgh win as well….had the officials actually called the off-sides like they should have, there would have been no tie, no overtime, no Philly win….just sayin….

      • melonheadsdaddy - Apr 19, 2012 at 3:20 PM

The game your referring to had a blatant icing waved off that led to pens 3rd goal…flyers win 3-2 in OT on a cleanly officiated game. Just sayin..

  9. lameasish - Apr 19, 2012 at 1:44 PM

And if Philly gets knocked out in the second round, will u fans disappear? My guess is no, you will continue to bring the comment section down

Oh Good! The Michael Leighton/Sergei Bobrovsky combo worked out SOOOO well last year!

  14. bensawesomeness - Apr 19, 2012 at 3:15 PM

Honestly, outside looking in, i’ll be upset when this series is over, seeing the fan bases rip each other to shreds is alot of fun

  15. jmikeymania - Apr 19, 2012 at 4:14 PM

That icing call was called was called by one then waved off by the ref closer to the play. Good goal.
