Seahawk fan, I understand you’re biased dude, but at least be educated. Did you at least watch that game? Earlier in the game Sedin tried to elbow Keith in the head and hit Keith’s jaw instead. Sedin reaped what he sowed.

Based on what Shanny gave Asham, I can’t see Torres getting much more if more at all. Torres tried to seperate Hossa’s head from his shoulders. Asham tried to crush a guys Larynx. Both seem just as lethal. Although, with Hossa being stretchered off and probably will miss some time, Shanny might give Torres more. You know, because they’re disciplining for results, not the stupid intent/action like they should.

Hope Hossa recovers soon. Great player.

Patrick Eaves broke his jaw and it left him mildly concussed and because of it he hasn’t played since December, too bad Hossa works hard and isnt a woos either

Next time we see Hossa will be next season. All indications are he has a broken jaw. I hope Torres does not play another playoff game. Anyone that defends that hit is an idiot. He should have just grabbed his head and banged it into the glass and only would have been fined $2500.

Brit9 your dumb. When Daniel sedin took the cheapest shot possible from Keith he played the next shift. When henrik took the big clean hit from brown the other night he was winded but got to the bench only to return and play a strong game. The sedins do not play dirty and they deserve more respect for the game they play. They led the league in scoring back to back years. Very impressive, creative and respectful players.

‘We immobilized Hossa’s neck and put him on a stretcher in case he had a spinal injury, because that’s standard operating procedure. It’s also common sense. We put him into an ambulance to get him to the hospital because that’s standard operating procedure. Once again, common sense also applies here. When the docs looked him over, he wasn’t suffering from an injury that would end his season, nor his career. So now, we are keeping an eye on him at his place (because his couch kicks serious ass, and his fridge is stocked). He may not be back on Thursday, but he’ll be back soon. Fret not, ‘Hawks fans.’

Soooooo , how does your own medicine taste Blackhawk fans. It’s open season on the NHL’s stars thanks to your own Duncan Keith throwing an MMA elbow to Sedins head just to make sure he couldn’t play anymore this year. Great. Oh, and Kieth got a nice rest down the stretch while we freefell without our top scorer.
The hyperventilating Blackhawk announcers are the SAME ONES that justified that the Sedin hit wasn’t so bad.

It’s generally a safe protocol to immobilize the head after any bad trauma from the neck up. You could always end up doing more damage than originally done.

That said if it’s a broken jaw then good bye Torres! Glad to hear it’s not as bad as a severe concussion could be though. CHI lost a major player to a reckless dbag.

Rumor is he has a broken jaw which certainly means he’s gone for this series. When Travis Hamonic broke his jaw on 2/4/12, he did not return until 2/24/12. Hossa probably wouldn’t be back before the WCF if the Hawks get that far.

I was surprised that they would have immobilized Hossa for a broken jaw, but my dental hygenist wife was not. She said pain from an injured jaw can radiate to the neck and they would have wanted to immobilize him pending further testing.
