Clearly I should apologize to Kane and higkingturgon for mistakenly believing that only should be at fault after beating up a cabbie trying to get 20 cents, sorry, 17 cents change when clearly the cabbie was also acting the thug for having locked the multi-millionaire and his cousin in the cab after not receiving payment for what could have been anywhere from a $20-100 fare, or more.

If you are going to lock your passengers into the car until they pay their fare, then you are going to have to respect their right to have their change returned to them, even if it is only 17 cents. He shouldn’t have punched the guy but, hey I would’ve have been pretty pissed off too. Both sides were at fault, know a little more about the issue before you go shooting your mouth off next time.

Well I think you’d agree we all have sympathy for Hossa, and anyone who gets injured in any play in the game, but I do have say … I’d pretty much guarantee there’s at least a few people who dismissed the Sedin injury spouting some pretty loud righteous indignation over this hit.

Not excusing Torres in any way shape or form, but this hit is almost as nasty as Keiths so let’s lay off the overblown rhetoric and make sure we try and keep at least soome perspective.

You know what? Hockey is a great sport. The skill, the speed, the checking, the fights. It all makes for great entertainment. I feel that hockey players are amazing just for the fact that they do all of this on two thin blades of steel.
However, during this first round of the playoffs, there have been too many instances of extremely dangerous hits, such as the one on Hossa.
The players are much stronger and faster then they were 20 years ago, and they all wear ridiculously hard pads that are making these hits even more severe.
The NHL is being proactive in what they are trying to do to get stuff like this out of the game.
NASCAR waited through the deaths of Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin, Blaise Alexander, and numerous others, but when their most prominent superstar, Dale Earnhart, lost his life at Daytona, NASCAR reacted with SAFER barriers, the Hans Device, and the COT car.
Since Dale lost his life, there have been numerous accidents that would have potentially been fatal without all of these changes.
The NHL seems to be at the precipice of a fatality on the ice from the recklessness of some players, the protective pads, etc.
Hossa was hurt on this reckless play. Hossa’s life and well-being are much more important than petty comments made on blogs.
Hopefully, his injuries are not severe and the stretcher and backboard were just precautionary.

Nice to see Joel Quenneville so disgusted by this hit. Hard to believe he could keep his disgust under control when Daniel Sedin was sticking his big, fat face in Duncan Keith’s elbow. Not feeling much sympathy for the Hawks.
