Ultimately it is not up to Shanny. The players are responsible for each others’ well being on the ice and until they decide to at least respect each other, no amount of babysitting will fix that.

The lack of discipline for hits has been dispicable. The disregard for players by other players is embarassing. Hitting is one thing but targeting the head is completely different. Its about beating another team not about injuring players. Its been going on for years. But it needs to change. Shanny can do better its not his judgement someone is getting is his way persuading him. Cleaner play=more fans. Arrogance and greed= humanity’s biggest problems. WAKE UP NHL! Get the plank out of your eye. Work on it for better play.

In Hossa’s defense, he was traded to the Penguins. It wasn’t like he signed there and was in for the long haul with the Penguins. He just chose what he thought was the best team to win a cup. He was wrong, but at least it was about winning for him. It wasn’t just a money grab like some of the other players.
