The ice in Sunrise is no Rexall Place, but it’s at least passable. Temperature is always a little colder than normal, heavy curtains up to keep out humidity, no basketball is played over the ice. With all the precautions taken, the ice in BAC is probably better than NJ/WAS around this time of year.

I’ll confirm that one from personal experience- it’s been hot and muggy in Washington the past couple of days. I haven’t been over to Verizon, but I’d be surprised if the ice was in great shape with all of this.

Not to make excuses but it doesn’t help when it’s 85 out for consecutive days. The outside weather has been factor also in Washington

I’m not surprised. A lot of arenas cut costs on the preservation thingy. I remember last year when the Canucks played in Nashville the ice was bad. Then reps for the team or the arena came out and basically said “We didn’t really expect to still have ice in at this time of year so we didn’t include better climate control.”

And after all, playing in Sunrise, he knows bad ice when he sees it.
